'Handmade for Hospice' Project

Our 'Handmade for Hospice' project was born from a pilot project in October 2022, i.e. 'Pumpkins for Hospice'. It was very successful & this lead us to form a creative group in Jan 2023. We meet weekly on Thursdays from 11- 12.30 at the office on Mary St Mullingar. It is open to volunteers and friends and to anyone in the community who wishes to create with us or separately from the comfort of their own homes. This community project connects people in the locality, it is inclusive of all, feel free to drop in to the office for more details. Sustainability is an important element of the project, we use left over materials or donated wool/fabric, some of these items will be on display on our St.Patrick's Day float this year in Mullingar. We are also working on a 'Yarn Bombing' project, to be on display during the Fleadh. We hope to bring lots of cheerful colour to Mary St to embrace & welcome visitors to our town.

'Yarn Bombing' at the Hospice Office. This chair represents the engagement between our committee members & members of the public who have come together to make this piece, as part of our 'Handmade for Hospice' project. Pop up to us on Mary St. Mullingar for a closer look or would you like to be involved in our project? All welcome to join the group weekly or if you would like to create your pieces at home & then send them in, that would be most welcome too. Thank you for your continued support!
