Remember your loved ones at Mullingar’s Remembrance Tree
The Mullingar Rotary Club together with the North Westmeath Hospice CLG, once again hosted the annual Remembrance Tree event at Dominick Place, Mullingar. Members of the public were invited to place a remembering card at the tree, to represent the precious thoughts of a loved one. This year the National Science Park in Mullingar, donated the new tree for this event. We also had a new hut for the comfort of volunteers and the general public. Thank you to all who supported this event for local charities. €14,690 was donated by the public, with half of that shared with the North Westmeath Hospice CLG for their local services.
It is a major fundraising initiative for both the North Westmeath Hospice CLG and The Rotary Club, to help with their work for the local Hospice and for local charities. A Mass & a Service are usually held in January for all those whose names have been placed on the remembering cards.
